Cycling Training Camps Help the Young Curacao Cyclists To Prepare For Their Upcoming Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships
The young cycling champions of Curacao came to Tampa to train in the Chavez Cycling Training Camp to prepare themselves both physically and mentally for their upcoming Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships and ended up making cycling history in Tampa.
They participated in the Tampa Criterium, competing against some of the fastest adult criterium cycling racers in the State of Florida. Hillard Cijntje, only 17 years old, won the Wednesday night Tampa Crit in an incredibly fast final field sprint.
On the weekend group ride, 15 year old Kevin Seberie and 16 year old Gyasi Sulvaran rode 50 miles on the challenging, hilly roads of San Antonio, Florida and reached speeds of over 45 mph when going for the final sprint against some of Florida’s state cycling champions.
With the Chavez Cycling Training Camp sessions for leg speed and leg power endurance, along with the intense competition during the criterium races and local group rides that they participated in the 6-day cycling camp, these young athletes got the preparation that a cyclist needs to win a championship race.
These young cyclists have the potential to achieve great things in any cycling race around the world and here at ChavezCycling.com we wish them the best results in their upcoming cycling races.
